Over the years I have collected many postcards of Herne, most of which, unfortunately, show the shop on the corner - and, from what I can find out, it only seems to be famous for, well, being the shop on the corner!
At the moment I have not added any of these postcards to this website because of the amount of work still being done on so many other parts of this website, but I will get around to it, sometime.

Herne Bay 123005 No printer or publisher is mentioned, but the 123005 I assume is some form of serial number. The writing on the back (in pencil) is dated 27/7/(19)24, and can be read (rather faint) Here |

Herne Bay - The Beach and Promenade This postcard was part of a series produced by E.T.W Dennis & Sons Limited (London and Scarborough). When I first viewed these I thought the ink had been wasked out blue by sunlight but this is a deliberate thing, known, in this case, as 'Dennis Photoblue'. They produced these cards during the 1950s-1960s. This card carries the serial number H 0503. |

It used a colour system called 'Carbo Colour', whicjh defined Valentine & Sons postcard series. These were printed, using Carbo Printing process, during the mid 20th Century. This card carries the serial number K.5663. |
